Profile

My name is Musiime Beneth a.k.a. Akoola am a computer scientist. I have been working in this field since 2005. I have worked as a Programmer, Network Administrator, and currently am a Database Administrator. I can say it’s a great place to be.

It’s one of the area that are very sensitive to an organisation since many have computer systems which are mostly centralised. You can be sure to enjoy work as well as irregular schedules since your work should not interupt other operations for the organisation.

Bellow are some of the application i have designed.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:

This project aims at improving management of information in the Human Resource Unit.

Functionalities of the system:

  • Capture, process and employees’ personal information and any other things that the employees are entitled to (like medical, training, allowances and leaves).
  • Enable easy update and management of the payroll.
  • Process reports required for decision making.
  • Provide a secure and central database for all employee information in the organisation.

Techniques used

  • Data collection: Narration, written literature, and existing system prototype.
  • Design: Data Flow Diagrams, and Entity Relationship Diagrams.
  • Implementation: MySQL database, PHP, HTML and java scrip.

INDICATOR PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This system aimed at keeping track of activities performed under indicators, to show how output indicators and outcome indicators perform in each country with respect to Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Strategic Objectives (SOs) and Management Objectives (MOs)

Functionalities of the system:

  • Enable users to register all measurable output and outcome indicators to be monitored
  • Enable users to register all activities performed with relation to indicators
  • Process and display reports of outcome and output indicators in relation to MDGs, SOs, and MOs

Techniques used

  • Data collection: Written literature, and narration.
  • Design: Entity Relationship Diagrams.
  • Implementation: Access, Visual basic and SQL

FLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:

This system aimed at monitoring the trips made by vehicles in and out of the organisation and the expenses incurred on fuel, repair, and servicing.

Functionalities of the system:

  • Allow users to register all company vehicles in the company
  • Capture and store information on vehicles and expenses in a central database.
  • Keep track of the trips made (destination, driver, and odometer value before and after the trip).
  • Keep track of the expenses incurred on fuel, repair and servicing of the vehicle

Techniques used

  • Data collection: Written literature, and narration.
  • Design: Entity Relationship Diagrams.
  • Implementation: Access, Visual basic and SQL

ONLINE TENDERING SYSTEM:

This project aimed at creating an Online Food Tendering System to ease the tendering process and minimise costs incurred during the process.

Functionalities of the system:

  • Capture, process and store tender information.
  • Publish advertisements of the tenders online.
  • Provide a central database for all tender information.
  • Allow interested suppliers to apply for tenders online.
  • Notify the winner of the tender online.
  • Authenticate users and provide them with different access levels.

Techniques used

  • Data collection: Questionnaires, written literature, and observation.
  • Design: Data Flow Diagrams, and Entity Relationship Diagrams.
  • Implementation: MySQL database, PHP, HTML and java scrip.

HOBBIES:

Computer programming, attending workshops and exhibitions: especially those related to information technology and engineering, drawing, watching television and making friends.
